Dubai Ports – No But Dubai Tank & Helicopter Parts – Yes

Dubai International Capital, an arm of the United Arab Emirates-owned
Dubai Holding company, said in December it was acquiring Britain’s
Doncasters Group for 700 million pounds (1.27 billion dollars).

Doncasters controls the US company Ross Catherall, which
operates nine US plants including one in Georgia that exclusively
supplies turbine fan parts and airfoils for army tanks and helicopters.

The British have a system in place to make sure that the UK retains the ability under their own flag to supply their armed forces.

"In this Strategy, we consider carefully which industrial capabilities we need to retain in the UK to ensure that we can continue to operate our equipment in the way we choose to maintain appropriate sovereignty and thereby protect our national security. The Strategy sets these out, and explains clearly for the first time which industrial capabilities we require to be sustained onshore, noting that – as now – there are many that we can continue to seek to satisfy through open international competition."
