And Then There Were Two

Only two Democrats voted against the House Resolution to stop the surge.

It is entirely proper for them to have voted against the resolution if that is what their constituents wanted. Given one is from Mississippi and the other from Georgia, it’s possible that they were both representing the will of the people in their districts.

Representative Gene Taylor represents the Fourth District in Mississippi.  According to his website, he is a former Coast Guard Reserve search and rescue boat skipper.  The Fourth District in Mississippi  includes Gulfport, Ocean Springs, Hattiesburg, and Laurel.

The other Democratic Congressman that voted against the resolution was Representative Jim Marshall of the Eighth District in Georgia.

Marshall’s district includes the city of Macon, and Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Georgia’s largest single employer.
